Show TIMMERMAN IN FRANCE. Floyd A. . Timruerman. staff correspondent corre-spondent of The Tribune, has arrived in France and will continue to .furnish the readers of this paper with such news concerning the members of the 145th artillery and other Utah soldiers at the front as can be gathered. Mr. Timmer-man Timmer-man was with tbe Utah cavalry on the border as a corporal in A troop. When the call came to the national guard to muster for the war against Germany, Timmerman went to the training camp as correspondent for The Tribune. His work was so well done and so generally appreciated, that the management concluded con-cluded to send him to Europe to serve as a connecting link between the fathers fath-ers and mothers, wives, sisters, brothers and friends and the Utah heroes who have crossed the seas to do or die. Tbe distance from Salt Lako. to Paris is very great and the censorship rules of the military authorities are very rigid, but the readers of Tbe Tribune may rest assured that Mr. Timmerman will keep in touch with their loved ones and give such information concerning their welfare and whereabouts as the censor will O. K. The Tribune takes pride in the fact that it has a special correspondent at the front, and feels sure that its enterprise will please its patrons. In his first cablegram Mr. Timmerman announces the promotion of two sergeants of the 145th to be lieutenants, which is good news for the relatives and friends of the two young men winning snch distinction. Other news of equal or more importance will i come from Mr. Timmerman from time j to tinie. Those who read his Casip Kearny stories will undoubtedly watch j for his articles from the front. , j |
