Show IMFLUENZA STILL I WASHINGTON", Sept. 30. More than 20,000 new cases of Spanish influenza were reported from army camps during the forty-eight hours ended at noon today. to-day. Pneumonia cases reported, numbered num-bered 733 and deaths 277. The total of pneumonia cases now is 5766 and de.iths 1577. The total number of Influenza cases in all camps was 72,3-7, said a statement state-ment tonight from the office of the surgeon-general of the army. The releases rel-eases reported Sunday numbered 0242 and those today 11,024. Three camps today reported more than in Of) new cases. Camp Pike, Ark., has 3125: Camp Sherman. Ohio. 1200, and Camp Jackson, South Carolina, 216S. Pneumonia cases are increasing at these camps, but the death rate continues low. The highest death rate reported today was from Camp Dis, X. J., where sixty-four sixty-four EoMiers died, and where, next to Camp Devens, Mass.. the epidemic is most severe. Camp Devens continued to chow a marked decrease in new ca-ses, only 107 being reported today, with forty-seven new cases of pneumonia. The total of influenza cases reported from this camp is 12,707, with IStj' cases of pneumonia and of 3 deaths. More than 2000 extra nurses have been sent to various camps, it was eaid tonight, to-night, and authority has been given to engage locally as many as are needed. Additional hospital facilities are bemi; provided at points where the epidemic is on the increase.
