Show Woodmen cf World. Utah camp No. 33S, W. O. W. The i last meeting was a iive one. The board ! 01 managers made their annual report on the finances of the camp, which was ; very gratifying. The camp is in better j financial shape than it has ever been. The ; board complimented the camp on its j standing. 1 I It behooves every member of this great j camp to attend its meetings and see the : new initiation. i We expect, in the next two or three weeks, to pay Weber camp No. 74 a fraternal fra-ternal visit and alao the camps of the city. Remember this and make arrangements to attend. "Get the habit. Visiting neighbors neigh-bors are cordially invited to meet with us. Deseret camp No. 408 met last Thursday Thurs-day evening and passed favorably on applications ap-plications for membership. The special session of the head camp convened at Denver last week and enacted some very important legislation. Among other things, a "Patriotic fund" was adopted, providing an assessment of 10 cents pel" thousand of benefits and 3 cents a member mem-ber a. month during the present war, out of which fund, wiien necessary, the dues and assessments of members in tho service ser-vice of this country iu the army or navy, or of any of its alliea, will be paid, so that no member in such service will be suspended for non-payment. There are about 3000 members now in service, and the total of 50CO is estimated under the present draft, and if oraft age should be extended from 31 to -15 years more than double that number will be in the service. ser-vice. The delegates wall make their report re-port at our next meeting. The ways and means committee states It has another good programme arranged for next Thursday evening, after a class Initiation, and a "social night" for the near future. The team captain expects to begin work in earnest on tho new manual man-ual and every member of the team is ordered to be on hand. We have several members on the sick list, but last reports show improvement all along the line. |
