Show BOLSHEVIKI BEGIN REIGN OF TERROR LONDON. Saturday, March 16. A dispatch dis-patch to the Daily Mail from Petrograd tells of tortures that are being inflicted by the Bolsheviki on persons in various localities. The dispatch says that in Voronezh the death penalty has been revived re-vived for burglars, and that In Kazan four peasants, who had been adjudged guilty of crime, were condemned to be burned to death. Tho entire populace of the village, says the icorrespondent, witnessed the execution execu-tion in Barnapol, Siberia, of four boys who had been condemned for theft. Three of the boys were publicly beheaded, while the other was tortured and Anally his head crushed in. In Zmievo, the merchants were each ordered to hand over 100,000 rubles. Those who failed to do so were thrown into the river, after ; stones had been tied about their necks. |
