Show NO BIDS RECEIVED FOR HIGHWAY BONDS Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, Dec' 33. Contrary Con-trary to expectations, no bids were re- i ceived for the $400,000 allotment of state ! highway- bonds offered for sale by the; state highway commission this week. As a result, it is not improbable that the 1 state land board will decide to take up : the issue as an investment for state i school- funds, there being at this time a large surplus on hand. While there were . many inquiries in regard to the sale of the bonds, it appears ap-pears that the interest rate of 4 per cent was not sufficiently attractive to induce in-duce any of the bonding concerns to invest. in-vest. The Dresent allotment Is part of the $1.1X10.000 highway bond issue authorized by the last- legislature. The bidding for the first allotment of $500,000 was very keen and the bonds sold at a good premium, pre-mium, but it is said that under existing conditions investors are able to find better bet-ter securities from an interest rate standpoint. stand-point. - - - |
