Show FRATERNAL SOCIETIES TO PUSH TUFT DRIVE Each Organization to Be Selling Agency; Great Results Expected. Leading fraternal organizations of Salt ; Lake and Utah pledged themselves 'Yesterday 'Yes-terday to a vigorous campaign In their various Molds In behalf of the sale of war savings stamps-at a conference held at war savings headquarters between representatives repre-sentatives of the leading organizations and James W. Collins,, chairman of the state war savings committee. It is anticipated that the fraternal campaign cam-paign will evolve into a contest of statewide state-wide extent between the organizations and that a spirited drive will be launched to determine which organization can dispose dis-pose of the most savings and thrift stamps in Utah. The frnternal organizations represented at the conference yesterday and the men representing them were as follows: Elks, John Culley; Woodmen of the World, Robert V. Runsel; Masonic, C. T .Jennings; Kagles, li. S. MeCann; Moose, Frank Christensen ; Knights of Pythias, James Terry; Knights of Columbus! R. C. Tteanor, and I. O. O. F., W. J. Moore. H is estimated that not less than 50,000 persons will be reached through the membership alono of the societies, to sav nothing of the families and friends of 1 (he members. Each societv will become. , a selling agent, and the effort will bo to have every member not only become a purchaser of stamps, but to have him sell stamps to someone else besides. Authority was issued by the United States treasury department yesterday to postmasters throughout the country to give stamps and savings certificates to concerns desiring to use them as Christmas Christ-mas gifts or for the payment of annual bonuses to employees.
