Show 'SH0IMN6 IS jH 11ITEDT1TIC, j Indications at Botton of 1 Shaft Are Highly Pleasing. Although the development work on the property of the recently incorporated incorpo-rated United Tintic Mining company, with large holdings in the Tintic district, dis-trict, has, been pushed but a short time, the indications are already so favorable as to be highly fmcouraging to management man-agement and officers alike. Frank Thornburg, secretary 6f the company and mine manager, came up from the property yesterday with some samples ot the rock taken from the bottom bot-tom of the big new shaft, which is a double, compartment with a manway, and has now been sent down only 160 feet. The product will be assayed today, to-day, but contains so much of lime and iron, characteristic of the formation in which the Tintic ore bodies make, as to render it reasonably certain that not much greater depth will be required until the mineralization will become stronger. "While the United Tintic is now pursuing pur-suing work with only a gasoline hoist, Manager Thornburg said yesterday that an electric plant, with air drills Vould be installed as soon as little more depth was reached, in order that the sinking might progress more rapidly. 1 The company has more than 600 acres of mineralized ground, located favorably for easy development, and is backed by mining men of long years' experience, Captain E. J. Kaddatz being president of the company, Mr. Thorn-I Thorn-I burg manager and secretary, and Greely I Snyder one of the moving spirits in the j directorate. |
