Show CLEAN-UP CONTINUOUS Clean-up week in Bingham Canyon was a disappointment iti that the tine public response of residents to the campaign last year was not equaled in the drive of the past week. Cooperation Co-operation of city officials and civic clubs was on a par with that featuring the successful drive last spring, so the blame can only be placed on the weather, or perhaps, indifference of the public. If for some reason yours was one of the families unable to do your part in giving Bingham Canyon a shiningly clean face, remember that "Clean up, Paint-up, Fix-up" is not a single, fixed date on the calendar, but rather a state of mind. A clean and attractive community is the reward of citizens who do their part in upkeep, and is all the more certain if the "campaign" is a year-round effort. Our home may be our castle, but our home town is our pride. The efforts expended in keeping the neighborhood clean and tidy are worth the profits and results gained without with-out any heavy taxes on the pocketbooks. We can do a lot of work around the yards and can always find enough rubbish to fill a basket or two. There are usually alleys filled with empty cans and bottles, old tires, etc. Not a delight to the civic eye! This appeal is to citizens to clean-up and fix-up their premises. Remove rubbish, provide sightly containers for waste, straighten up the yard, remove all fire ha2ards from the attic to the basement. There are few persons but are willing will-ing to "Clean-up Hingham Canyon" if given a small reminder. |
