Show LEAGUE LAYS PLANS nm vismHB nurses Non-sectarian Organization Hopes to Provide Care for Sick Poor. Outlining comprehensive plans for establishing es-tablishing a visiting nurses' association In Salt Lake, similar to the associations which exist In all other large cities, the officers of the non-sectarian charity league ! of Salt Lake yesterday filed their annual an-nual report and financial statement for 1916. Not only does the report show a great number of charitable operations successfully success-fully carried on during the past year, but the society closed its books December 31 with $3746.36 on hand. The report filed yesterday brines out the fact that the society tried an innovation inno-vation last year in the employment of a paid Investigator for six months. The work of this investigator proved satisfactory, satisfac-tory, and when the society found itself able to secure the services of Miss Alma Kjirlson. an experienced trained district nurse, the special investigator was transferred trans-ferred to the y roll of the charity organization or-ganization society. Hope to Add Nurses. The officials of the non-sectarian charity league call attention to the fact that they now have the nucleus of a visiting nurses' association, and state that they hope to add nurses to the staff as necessity demands. The league has a supply station where all necessary articles for the sick room are kept and these are loaned out for a nominal sum or loaned free of charge, if necessary. A sterilized supply is always in readiness. The officials of the league call attention to the fact that the success of this department requires adequate funds, and solicits the sympathy and co- ! operation of Salt Lake. Besides a large ', supply of new clothes the league has a 1 well supplied store of old clothes, all mended and cleaned. These clothes are kept In order toy applicants who need such work for the support of their families. fami-lies. All of the emergency relief work of the league is done pending an investigation investi-gation by the visiting corps of the charity chari-ty . organization society. Keport snows surplus.
