Show MAY 24 SET ASIDE AS POPPY DAY The custom of wearing poppies in memory of the World War dead sprang up spontaneously in many parts of the world soon after the close of the war, inspired inspir-ed by the poem, "In Flanders Fields", by Colonel John McCrae. In Bingham Canyon Saturday, May 24, has been set aside for sale of the memorial flowers, made by disabled veterans, by the Bingham unit of the American Ameri-can Legion auxiliary under leadership lead-ership of Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen, Poppy Day chairman. |
