Show AGRICULTURISTS 1 HfflEflEDFOR MEET Delegates From All Parts of Idaho Are in Pocatello for Big Convention. Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO. Idaho, Jan. 10. Delegates Dele-gates are here from all sections of Idaho for Farmers' and Housekeepers' week at the Idaho Technical Institute, and much interest is being shown in the strong programme provided. The conventions of the Idaho S"tate Live Stock, Dairymen's, Swine Growers' and Seed Growers' associations, which are being be-ing held in conjunction with Farmers' and Housekeepers' week, make this 'the greatest event for agriculturists ever i known to Ihx state. ! Thursday morning's general meeting wlli he in charge of the Swine Growers' association and will be addressed by Professor Pro-fessor L. J. Iddings, dean of the college of agriculture of the University of Idaho, on "Principles of Breeding." and by William Wil-liam H: Daughtry, president of the Union Meat Packing company of Portland, on "Community Shipping and Marketing." Thursday afternoon three separate meetings will be heid. The swine growers' grow-ers' programme consists of talks by Virgil Vir-gil Patterson of the Cudahy Packing company of Los Angeles on "Requirements "Require-ments of Coast Markets;" by J. H. Man-derfield. Man-derfield. secretary of the Union Stock , Yards of Salt Lake City, on "Inland Markets;" Mar-kets;" by Dr. Thomas C. Wilson of Idaho Falls -m "Feeding Swine in Large Numbers," Num-bers," and by D: K T. Baker of Moscow Mos-cow on "Diseases Common to the Swine Industry." The Seed Growers association will be addressed Thursday afternoon by J. S. Webster of Rexburg on "Grain Culture;" by L. C. Aicher, superintendent of the Aberdeen experiment station, on "Relationship "Rela-tionship of Weed Control and Grading to the Marketing of Seeds," and by O. D. Center of Boise oh "Grain Improvement." The housekeepers' programme for Thursday will consist of a talk by Dr. M. Sullivan of Twin Falls, federal expert ex-pert of animal diseases, on "Meat Inspection In-spection on the Farm," and by a demonstration demon-stration and talk on "Cooking of Pork" bv Miss Amy elly 0f fthe extension division di-vision of the University of Idaho. The general programme for all delegates dele-gates on Thursday evening will consist of a talk on "The Banker's Relation to the Farmer" by D. W. Davis of American Ameri-can Falls, and an address by former Governor Gov-ernor E. M- Ammons of Colorado. |
