Show GOOD MARKS FEATURE EAST H16HS0PH MEET Fast Time Made in Several Events; Brown Shows Class in Weights. The flbphomores of the East High school held their class track and field meet yesterday afternoon on the school campus. Some exceptionally good marks were made for so early in the season, notably that of Gordon Wirick"s performance per-formance in the mile, the time being 4 minutes and ob' seconds. Glenn Brown in the two weight events and Arch Sutton in the 1UU also did good work. Sutton was the highest point maker of the day, copping first places in the broad jump, 1UU and 220-yard dashes and seconds in the pole vault and 440. His work in the 100 was fast, considering consider-ing the amount of training he has been doing. Sayman Kerr ran a nice race in the 440, beating out the speedy Sutton. The time was also fairly fast. Gordon Wirick captured both the half and the mile. In the S80 he was forced to the limit by Captain Kerr, but showed strength at the end. His time was good in both events. Glenn Brown won the shot put and the discus throw. He hurled the oval more than twenty-six feet farther than Nowells, his nearest opponent. Bing put the shot thirty-eight teet, which is very food, as he has spent little time in this epartment, devoting more to baseball. Nowells was second in both weight events.
