Show CRANK WANTED TO TALK WITH WILSON Attempts to Jump on Running Board of Machine at Pittsburg; Held for Examination. PITTSBURG, Oct. 20. Richard Cul- len, aged 22, a machinist, who was taken into custody after attempting to jump on the running board of an automobile in which President. Wilson was riding here today, was examined by physicians this afternoon and ordered sent to the city home at Mayview for further obser- vatiou regarding his sanity. Cullen denied that he intended karm-ing karm-ing the president, saying he was not satisfied with the administration's foreign for-eign policies and iust wanted to talk to him. A bottle of liquid in a bag carried by Cullen was found to contain medicine, medi-cine, according to the police. A knife with a blade five inches long and several wood chisels also were in i the bag. Cullen has been attending j night school at a local technical insti- tuto, working during the day for a steel j company. |
