Show LIGHTFOOT IS HELD TO DISTRICT COURT Faces Charge of Obtaining Material and Labor on Printing Under False Pretenses. Special to The Tribune. OGDEX, Feb. 16. After a preliminary trial in the municipal court today, J. W. Lightfoot. arrested at Grand Island, Neb., several weeks ago, was held to the district dis-trict court for trial on a charge of obtaining ob-taining labor and material 'under false pretenses. The complaining witness against Lightfoot was A. T. Hestmark, an Ogden job printer. Other witnesses for the state were R. F. Stevens, foreman fore-man of the Hestmark shop; E. L. Wille, proprietor of the Wilson grill in Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Wille. According to the testimony. Lightfoot entered Into a contract to publish a menu card for the Wille cafe and the printing hi. wat done by Hestmark. After the work HHnus completed Lightfoot turned over cer-I cer-I tain advertising contracts to cover the cost of printing, but the menu was not 't issued according to contract, the adver- tisers refused to pay and Hestmark re--eived nothing for his work and the ma-Vials ma-Vials used. In his own defense Liirhtfoot said he had turned the Hestmark account over to his partner, J. F. Layton, for settlement. |
