Show j BINGHAM-TOOELE TO APPLY FOR PATENT Miners Crosscutting West for Wall ; Constructing Building for Men. Within at least fifty feet of driving the main tun Del of the Bingham -Tooele Mining company, the property of whieh is located at the bead of Middle canyon can-yon in the Bingham district, will out another large bod.y of -Ionian lime-' lime-' stone, according to the estimates of the engineers that have been surveying survey-ing the property for patent. The survey sur-vey has been completed and the application appli-cation for patent will be made as soon as the notes reach t he surveyor general gen-eral s office and are approved" by him. The main tunnel is now in a distance pi 529 feet from the portal and is being be-ing driven in a southwesterly direction along the main fissure. The crosscut; to tne east was driven thirty feet before be-fore the quart7,ito f ormation was reached. Along the contact with tho quartzite silver and gold values were encountered. The crosscut to the east was started at the 46u-foot point in the tunnel. At the 529-foot point a crosscut cross-cut is now being driven to the west to find the other wall. This crosscut is now in approximately twentv feet, in- dicating that the fissure is at least fifty-five feet in width. The company is at present working only one shift of miners. Plans are under way however, how-ever, to increase the force. This will, in all probability, be done as soon as the building at present being constructed con-structed for the accommodation of more miners is finished. It will cover LI an area of 14x26 feet, and is being constructed to accommodate probably three shifts of miners. The property of the Bingham-Tooele company adjoins that of the Utah Metal & Tunnel company on the south and west, in which property the bonanza bo-nanza ore body was encountered some fj time ago and from which there is being be-ing shipped about 100 tous of ore per day. The Bingham-Tooele adjoins the Jesse Knight properties on the west j! and east. It is the intention of the company to continue the main tunnel I for a distance of approximately 2000 ;. feet from the portal. Surveys show j that a depth will be attained of be-j be-j tween i500 and 2000 feet from the surface sur-face on the vertical. |
