Jmise w-as asked his opinio: : "". rice reduction in cars, and said: , i can depend upon it that ; --." will not. be much further re-i-.' -n in the price of the better- made cars. They are down to rock-bottom rock-bottom prices right now. When we announced the price of the Chandler Chand-ler for 1916 we startled the automobile auto-mobile world, but we got it right down to the bottom, realizing tnat the automobile must get down to reaLxost basis before the business would be satisfactory to the manufacturer, manu-facturer, dealer and consumer. Cheaper cars can be built, I will admit, bur a car of quality must have the best of equipment, material ma-terial and construction; this cannot be cheapened. By adopting cheaper cheap-er accessories, of rather f should say standard parts, of everv car, we could perhaps cut the Chandler, but that is not our policy. We have absolutely the best of ev'erytaing in the Chandier and will continue to build cars like that. Just remember, remem-ber, the Chandler was the first manufacturer in America to build a light high-grade six, and since then nearly everv car builder in America has tried to follow in our lead. As I said before, the Chandler Chand-ler under Mr. Quisley's handling has done a remarkable business in the Salt Lake territory the past year, but the izr was right, or this could not have been deme. |
