Show COMMISSIONERS LOSE IN TWO DECISIONS Special to The Tribune. PRICE, Dec. 10. Tno decisions were handed down by Judge Christensen in i the district i-ourt today that were of con-1 con-1 sidcrablc interest to the taxpayers of Car- bon county. The first was to the effect ! that the county commissioners had acted ! illegally in hiring legal assistance against I the protest of the county attorney and that the money so expended hy them would have to he refunded. This decision will be appealed by the commissioners. The sficond decision was in favor of NT. S. Nielsen, who was suing the county for the return of $3u.ooo borrowed by the commissioners several years ago. Tho county attorney had advised the present board t ha t the formercommissioners had exceeded the debt limit at the time the loan was made and that the money could not legally be repaid. The court gave Mr. Nielsen, a .iudgment for the face of the loan less S3000, which amount had been paid him in interest. |
