WETZELL YIELDS J ILLflESS Supervisor of Music in Public Pub-lic Schools Dies Early This Morning. Professor William A. Wetzell. for many years supervisor of music in the public schools of the city and one of the most widely known musical Instructors in the west, died at his home in this city at an early hour this morning. Professor Wetzell had been critically ill for several sev-eral weeks and for the past ten days his life had been practically despaired of. Although not unexpected, his death will come as a shock to thousands of fellow fel-low educators and friends throughout this city and state. Professor Wetzell came to Utah from Oregon about fifteen years ago. and was first employed in the high school as professor pro-fessor of mathematics. .Luter he was principal of the Riverside school and lie was then made music supervisor, which position he had held for approximately thirteen rears. Professor Wetzell was born in Indiana and his mother and father and widow survive him. Tuberculosis of the throat was the cause of death. Funeral Fu-neral arrangements will be made later. |
