Show CONTROVERSY RAGES OVER DRUG PRICES NEW YORK. Sept. 2. Druggists were not justified because of the European war in increasing the price of drugs until the stocks they had on hand at the beginning begin-ning of hostilities were exhausted, according ac-cording to D. V. MaeLean. secretary of a drug company, who testified today before be-fore Chief Magistrate McAdoo in District Dis-trict Attorney Whitman's "John Doe" inquiry in-quiry into high food prices. The day's investigation was devoted to pharmaceutical pharma-ceutical supplies.
