Show SAYS WIFE OFFERED BRIBE FOR DIVORCE i David Stern Tells Tale of Woe to Justice Weeks in New York Court. By International News Service. NEW YORK, July 5. "Every man has a price. What is yours?" This is the proposition that David Stern, wealthy boot and shoe merchant, says his wife made to him when bhe wanted a divorce. Mrs. Cora Stern, the wife, is suing for a separation. Her husband informed Justice Weeks that she Is independently wealthy. The disagreement in the Stern 1 evidence, evi-dence, according to the husband, was caused by his wife's 'intatuatlon" for Frrvnk Miller, "a man of leisure." His wife, he declares, told him she wanted a divorce and even offered him 55000 on March 3 last, for the evidence. He says she held Miller up to him "a man of chivalry," wno had given his wife a divorce. Mrs. Stern says her husband has fabricated fab-ricated nearly all of his allegations. She says Miller is only a friend :f the family and that she is not "infatuated." She charges her husband with having treated her cruelly. Justice Weeks granted her $100 a month allowance pending trial of the separation action. |
