Show POLES PREPARING. The Russian Poles have organized a committee to take the preliminary steps in the erection of the ancient kingdom, tho czar having promised autonomy, Xaturally the Poles are fired with patriotic pat-riotic ardor when they contemplate the possibilities. Of course, the carrying out of tho plan depends upon the ability abil-ity of Russia and her allies to wrest the remaining Polish provinces from Germany and Austria, so it is a sort of "first catch your hare" proposition. The Poles in Russia, however, evidently evi-dently believe the Muscovites will win and that Sarmatia, which "fell unwept, without a crime," will be reunited under un-der one flag, even though the country will owe allegiance to the czar. Perhaps Per-haps the Polish leaders dream of the lime when Russia will become involved in another great war, thus giving Poland Po-land an opportunity to throw off the coke altogether. If they are not figuring fig-uring upon this possibility at the present pres-ent time, the idea will come to them quickly enough when the opportunity to become absolutely free presents itself. |
