Show NEW METHOD FOR I ' GDLDFIELD MINE HH Roasting Plant Likely for aH I Copper and Silver Ore K ' Tonnages. Wt NOW BEING SMELTED jff Depends Upon .the Quantity ! Developed of This Sort Sffl Special to The Tribune. Hi GOI-iDFlELD, Xev.. March 2. From xH I 'present Indications and available lnfor- mM I matlon it appears probablo that the pro- mm ductlon of the Goldflcld Consolidated Kff ! Mines company In March will bo trtiown wtM I by the monthly report to be tho largest 18k (or any single month In a long: time. In wg addition to the largo tonnage of ore HHf treated by the company's 100-stamp mill, IflS w averaging DSO to 9S0 tons dally, a con- Bffij slderabje nunnilty of smelting oro has B8 been shipped to tho Miller's sampler of BH the Western Ore Purchasing company. HB This product has been of uniformly cx-cellcnt cx-cellcnt grade, but owing to Hh content HH of silver and copper It Is not readily Hflj amenable to treatment by the processes Hr8 employed in the company's mill and the HR recovery effected by smelting la suffl- B clently belter to offset tho additional cost WBM for transportation. It is regarded as B highly probable that if the deposits of ore of this character prove to be of HI great volume on the deep levels of the W mines, the company will erect a smelter MSI or roasting plant to enable It to treat this ore locally fl High Values Deep. Nfl Developments of the greatest impor- ZIKfl tance have been mnde recently In the 1 B mines of this company and the average 9B grade of ore treated In the mill has flHJI shown a gratifying advance. The latest JH Jlnal report of the management was for 9BS the month of January and In this report SHj it was set forth that in the Laguna HJI mine, at a point above the 600-foot level HH and in the downward extension of the Hi great Red Top vein, an oro body had HU been exposed and developed to some ex- HH tent which yielded average assays of ?S0 HH per ton across sixteen feet. The same M ore body, but of lower nveragu grade, HH had also been opened above this point HH and now It Is mated here that the ore jnO has been exposed sixty feet blow Che Bjfn lower point. HH This Is but one of several important de- HH vclopmcnts. Some three months ago the H management reported an ore body of Hjn large volume opened In tiie Combination mam mine, near tiie western boundary of HQ the properties and the most westerly of Mum ari' Important discovery in this territory. HH The deposit was opened on the 130-foot HH level and development showed It to be HJH the extension of the famous "glory-hole" HB ore body, that yielded several millions In DHj rich, free-milling ore. Later work In MM this ground showed the ore body to be of HB vastly greater volume and better average JB grade than was nt first supposed. When BHJ it had been opened for a distance of about Hj 100 feet and its widest point was shown Hj to be about forty feet, the company's on - UHJ glnccrs estimated that at that time and WH on that level nionc the ore exposed would HBJ . add at least S500.000 net to the visible J ore reserves of the mine. Since then Hfl it haE been opened for considerably over H 2no feet in length, with an average width DHJ of forty feet, and the average grade of H the ore, believed at first In be mound '20 HWj Per lon 'fi much better, the ore extract- H ed having jleldcd an average of better J than 536 per ton. mm Clermont and Laguna. HI Operations at other points on the&c mm properties have been attended by highly Jl satisfactory results. The Clermont mine mm has been producing a large tonnage of oro HI that has averaged around 510 per ton, HH and including some high grade. The La- IHl jruna ore contnlna specimens of execed- Hffl lugly rich material and the Mohawk mine HJI1 continues to turn out a large tonnage of Mm good mill ore- M the time of tho last Hffl fomplete report the ore body of the Griz- HH r.ly Rear had not been developed sufll- HH clently on the 1 100-foot level to deter- HH mine its Importance, but it is said that HH this ore, discovered on the 1300-foot level HH and between this point and the 1000-foot HH level of the Clermont, the two mines be- HH ing connected at depth, is coming In HH strong at 1 400 fool depth. It Is this ore mm from the deepest levels that la refractory HH and that is ehlppcd direct to t lie smcl- H The new work on the Goldficld Orn HH company s main shaft will be completed H within less than a week, when a powerful HH hoisting plant will bo Installed together H with compressor, machine drills and BJ pumps, and slnkin? will begin with the HH object of gaining the 1000-foot level as HH rapidly as possible. On the 200-foot level HH a station has been cut and some devel- H opmcnt work will be done at this depth. H where the work of enlarging the shaft HH haa exposed a strong vein of good ap- HH pearance. At this depth, in territory of MM the Consolidated, adjoining the Oro on -the HH foulh, deposits of great value have been IH found nnd there is every justification for H exploring the Oro ground on this level H while sinking. The Oro ground covers HH the northern extension of the vein that I HH Is being mlnel on -the Red Top and Ln- Hj pina, as well as the trend of tho Colum- HH bla Mountain fault oro channel, and tmm mining men generally, who are familiar HH "vlth this ground, are confident that Im- HH portant ore bodies will be found within Mj the Oro boundaries. H Jumbo Extension. mM Jumbo Extension continue its regular mm output of about 2000 tons monthly, the HH product being f-hlpped to the Bonnie H Clare mill, thirty-eight miles south of MM Goldfleld and now under Icufc to tho H Jumbo Extension company. It i3 said WW that the mine Is in better condition and HH with a larger volume of oro reserves thRn HH at any time In the rmst, the great vein. HH having a trend across tho rolevcrd rlalm from the Clermont to the Merger H sround, containing three dltlnct and HH large ore shoots, all of which show wide HH faceB of excellent material on several LnJ levels. An arrangement Is undor con- HJ federation for the Florence Goldflcld com- IHJ pany to use ten stamps and the cyanide IH department of the Bonnie Clare mill, as IH the Jumbo FJxtensIon ore cannot be trcat- HB cd by cvanldatlon and the company Is HH usin!r, ?"'' ten r thn enty stnmpn. BBJ Sinking continues on the Mcrgr HH sround, the shaft being down nearly t,6o mm feet and the deepest in the Goldfleld dls-trlch dls-trlch Shipments continue from tho Ver- EHi nal and from the Ne-ada Eagle property MM four mlloa west of town.
