The Very Rev. Dean Harris, the well-, known writer and priest, gave readings of "Unforgotten I .ays" and was most warmly i received by the select and representative audience present. In his exordium the. speaker referred to poetry as that "beau- 1 tlful God-gift lo man;" anil how tho poems of the long ago, now almost forgotten, for-gotten, should really be the "Unforgotten "Unforgot-ten Lays." He read a number of Hood's poems, but those which perhaps made the most impression were "Eugene Aram" and "By tho Banks of the lOiie. Rendemem." Many prominent society women were present and all were hlghtly enthusiastic. enthusias-tic. It is the purpose of the Sisters to have prominent speakers address the pupils from time to time, and the plan is meeting with great success, not only with the .pupils, but their relatives, and friends. |
