Show TO LOOK AFTER FRUIT. J. M. White Goes to Omaha to Assist Utah Grwcrs. Spoclal to Tho Tribune. OGDEN, Sept. 2. As the result of a decision by tho board of directors of the Utah Fruit oxchango, J. M. White, manager, man-ager, will leave tomorrow for Omaha, where he will remain while thc fruit crop Is being handled. It was the bellof of a majority of the directors that the exchangfl would obtain the best results if Manager- White remained at thc Nebraska Ne-braska market to look after thu fruit as it arrived there. During his absence J. F. Burton will bo In charge of the local office. Up to the present, the exchange has boen handling only what Is known as Job lots of fruit, shipping slngio cars of early peaches and other fruit. Tomorrow To-morrow tho first full car lots of JSlborta peaches will bo shipped from Trovo, Pleasant Grovo and Brlgham City to the eastern market points. This will mark the beginning of tho real movement of the big peach crop. Manager Whlto states that the exchange ex-change i8 making the first shipment of Elbertas at 35 cents per case with the fruit on board cars at shipping points. There Is a possibility that a higher price can bo paid later. Early Crawfords arc being sold at 30 cents per case. |
