Show THE committees of the chamber of commerce heard from fair ared the increased mail service the black board wants at the cham ber of commerce meeting last night were as follows f PROVO wata an all night telephone service A utah county fair the meeting was called to order by president R H dodd mr don R coray stated that the provo valley mail committee waro not prepared to report they intended to go to heber city next week judge coneg in behalf of the committee on waterworks water works reported pro they had conferred aith the city council and the matter had been re ferrei to the joint committees on irrigation and water works thea committees had appointed aub t confer with the canal companies and secure the er vicea oi a competent engineer to prepare a survey of the proposed canal mr noon in behalf of the committee which had under consideration coM the contemplated tem plated road between provo and tin tic had conferred with mr john H mccrystal of gintic tintic and that gentleman had responded that the scheme met with hearte approval there A representation resen tation of gintic tintic citizen would appear before the chamber at an early date mr eldredge EI dredge in behalf of the committee an docic growing etc reported that they were scarcely prepared yet to make a written report bat the holding of a county fair had been considered there ware several old county fair associations but they all seemed to be dead the committee had deemed it advisable in as much s provo i the leading city of the county that the chamber should take the matter in hand and make preparation a for a county fair to be held next september president dodd asked for information in relation to increased mail ervice between pro 70 and salt lake judge jones reported that he was one of the committee but not the abah man he had seen by the public dress that the object had been attained the report was accepted and the committee released from further consideration of the matter with thanks judge jobea stated that he had conferred with prominent citizens of spanish fork in relation to a proposed railroad line between provo and gintic tintic and they were perfectly willing to do their share to secure a road J L dayis reported that the general committee en a chamber of ball had appointed sub committees and practically all concluded their work judge jonea had noticed that nearly all of the members of the general committe on the opera hauae ball were new comers he would therefore move that four old residents be added to tho committee tc night carried the following additional members were elected william H brown john C graham S S jones and C A glazier mr C A glazier who was nominated by mr graham declined on the ground that he was not a member of the chamber mr gash then moved that the rules be suspended and mr glazier be admitted a member this motion prevailed and mr glazier was elected a member of the committee the sub committees as published in the were read by the secretary mr gash the general committee be instructed to add the name of C A glazier to the hat of floor managers mr B A moved the board be instructed headd to the list of standing committees commit tess a committee on rules and order of business carried mr eldredge dredge EI moved the committees collectively be accepted as it now stands carried mr J jj davis desired to have the names of the paid up members of the association read and made a motion to effect but it received no second an adjournment was taken until friday evening at |
