Show STUDENTS' CONTEST FOR MEDAL IS ON Preliminary examinations were, held at All Hallows college yesterday for the Kold medal offered annually hy the Knights of Columbus to tho student who writes the best original essay. Much Interest has been taken in tho contest by the .students, who havo spent weeks preparing essays of noteworthy merit. The preliminary examinations 1 wero held before the faculty and student body. Tho following students succeas--fully passed yesterday's examinations, subjects also being given; Charles McGlll. "Psychology of Environments" En-vironments" ; Charles GlIHs, "Socialism": Nell Boyle. "The Church and Science William Miller, "The Great Questions and Who Shall Dccldo Thorn"; George llcnscl, "The Commission Plan of Municipal Mu-nicipal Government"; Leonard Bouford, "Tho Emigration Question" (negative); Joseph Rogers. "The Emigration Question" Ques-tion" (affirmative). The finals for this contest will take place Friday evening. May 17. Preliminaries Prelimi-naries of the elocution contest will be held in tho Junior, academic and senior divisions today. |
