Show Ex-Brakeman Division Chief M. A. WILLIAMS. PHI! Ml TO 1. S. 1LUIS Popular Denver & Rio Grande Man Slated for Chief of . Salt Lake Division. It was reported from an authoritative source yesterday that M. A. Williams, superintendent of the Green TJlver division di-vision of the Dcner & Rio Grande, with headquarters at Helper. Utah, would shortly be transferred to the Suit Lake division. W. M. Bacon, who. according to the report, has tendered his resignation resigna-tion as superintendent of the Salt Lake division, has been" with the Denver & Rio Grande in his present capacity since last September. His reasons for resigning and his plans for the future could not bo learned last night. The promotion of Mr. Williams has been unusually rapid. ITo entered the train service as a brakeman and was soon promoted to be a conductor, from which he was advanced to be assistant superintendent of the Green River division di-vision in Scptcinbor. 1909. Ho was assistant as-sistant superintendent until July 1, 1910. when he was made superintendent of that division. In addition to being an expert In railroad work, Mr. Williams is agrocublu and Is popular with all of the men under him. It is rumored that a man from the ino-ohanlcal ino-ohanlcal department of the Denver & Rio Grande will be promoted to the superintendence superin-tendence of the Green River division. |
