Show DEMAND FOR INCREASE IN WAGES REFUSED The master painters at their meeting last night decided that they would not grant the demand of the paperhangers for an Increase of wages from $1.51) to 5 per day. There was a full attendance at the meeting and tho strike was discussed at length In nil Its aspect. At Its conclusion conclu-sion President Duvall gave out for publication pub-lication the following: "You can say that wo will not grunt the demand "of the paperhangers. This statement fully covers the result of our meeting." Mr, Duvall would not say anything regarding the future plans of the association, asso-ciation, whether an attempt would bo made to resume work with nonunion men or noL At the headquarters of the strikers at labor temple there was an air of confidence con-fidence yesterday and there was no talk of yielding. The entire situation will bo discussed at a meeting of the union today. |
