Show EHKIE BUS WINS BUT HASHARD FIGHT Infighting- Wins Ten-Round Bout Between Jersey Boy and Hayes. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 10. Frankle Burns knew that he had the fight of his life when he shaded Chick Hayes, the local bantamweight, In ten rounds of fast fighting hero tonight. The Jersey City boy excelled at infighting in-fighting and landed blow after blow which Hayes was unable to stop. Hayes did his best work in the second and eighth rounds, when he landed several sev-eral hard swings, cutting Burns over the eyo in the latter round, Hayes had the better of the long rango fighting. In tho ninth round Roferce Dillon had to caution BurnB for hitting low in the clinches and after the first round. Bay Bronson, Hayes' manager, called tho easterner's attention to his low punches. Burns appeared stronger In the last two rounds than the local fighter, but could not land a knockout. It was one of the fastest exhibitions ever seen In Indianapolis. |
