Show KLE SI TO KEEP Government Proposes to Establish Es-tablish Needed Stations 5it Saltair Resort. Arrangements arc being made by which tho government of the United States will nssist in protecting the livos of boaters and bathers on the Great Salt lake. Director Thiesseu of tho local weather weath-er office has been in consultation with the management of Saltair Beach, having hav-ing in view the establishment at tho resort of a branch station. Mr. Thiesseu Thies-seu desired the co-operation of tho Saltair poople in helping to defray the expense of installtaion of the physical necessities for the branch. The resort p'coplc have expressed a willingness to do this, especially iu view of tho fact that the establishment of tho station at the beach will serve as an aid in tho protection of bathers and boaters from danger on account of suddon storms. It is tho purpose to have an attendant attend-ant at the resort who will watch the instruments in-struments placed at tho station by the government "weather bureau. This attendant at-tendant will hoist signal flags denoting the character of weather conditions ahead of their actual development at the resort. Placards will be placod in prominent locations at the beach, explaining ex-plaining the meaning of each Hag to bo used, the several ensigns to be shown in illustrations printed with the accompanying accom-panying explanations. Persons going out to bathe or to take boat rides will be instructed as a matter of precaution precau-tion to keep an occasional watch on the flags that are to be hoisted on the tall signal staff to be placed where it can be seen for miles out on the water. |
