Show NEW CANNING FACTORY. Contract Is Let at Tremonton for Plant to Cost $30,000. Special to The Tribune. TREMONTON, June 2S. George W. Craig of Ogdon. who is better known as the father of the canning Industry, was here the first of the week letting the contract for tho erection of another canning can-ning factory. The plant will be one of tho largest In the state. 80 by 1G0, and will be in operation this fall. The cost of the plant Is $30,000. Tho Farmers' union Is remodeling and enlarging its warehouse so as to be prepared pre-pared for the fall's grain crop, which will bo the largest In the valley for yearB. Tho main building will bo 60 by 180 feet. The Tremonton Cider and Vinegar works Is Installing an up-lo-dato evaporating evapo-rating plant. Peaches, pears, apples and prunes will bo the main products this BeaBon, but next season currants, raspberries rasp-berries and cherries will be evaporated. The fruit crop this year promises to be tho largest In the history of this county. coun-ty. At a conservative estimate, between 600 and 600 cars of apples alone will be shipped to eastern markets this year. |
