Show RAY TATTON TAKES OFFICE AS CHIEF OF JOINT FIREMEN Ray Tatton, now serving his third year as fire chief of department depart-ment No. 1, was elected president presi-dent of the Bingham Volunteer Firemen joint companies for 1940 at the regular monthly meeting held at No. 1 Fire hall Tuesday evening. Mr. Tatton will succeed Art. J. Sorenson as president. Ai Other officers elected to serve next year are: I Joseph Timothy, vice president succeeding Mr. Tatton; George Knudsen, secretary, secre-tary, succeeding j Eddie Grant; and I Ross Marriott, treasurer, suc- Ray Tatton ceeding James Carrigan. The newly elected officers offi-cers will be hosts at a luncheon at No. 2 Fire hall Tuesday, Jan. 9. Earl T. James, president of the Utah State Firemen's association, gave President Art J. Sorenson a trophy for Bingham firemen's participation in the night show at the annual convention in Vernal Ver-nal last August. Ernest Smith of Murray, vice president, and John J. Creedon, secretary, were other association officers present. Accompanying Mr. Smith were William Ringrose and Hodge Tauffcrs of Murray. Mr. Tatton reported on the Halloween Hal-loween dance and Wilford Harris on the rabbit hunt held November Novem-ber 19 at Promotory Point. Mr. James and Mr. Sorenson, acting as a committee from the Lions club, explained the purpose of a Community Chest.
