Mr. Lofgran is butcher at the Lark Mercantile company. Mr. and Mrs. Max M. DuBois and daughter, Ann, joined Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Morley for a pic-nic in Dry Fork canyon Thurs-day. The Justamere club met at the home of Mrs. Lola Fahrni Thurs-day evening. A seven o'clock chicken dinner was served Mrs. Evelyn Lovell, Mrs. Ruth Towers,, brother-in-la- and sister, Mr. and Mrs J. William Grant. Roses de-corated and mock orange blossoms the table at which places were marked for Mr and Mrs. Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Max M. Du- Bois, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott w. Evans. Bridge followed and priz-es were given each player. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Currier of Freeport, Long Island, N. spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the home of Mr. ana Mrs. George E. Bowen, en route to the Pacific coast for a three-wee- k vacation. Mrs. Currier is a niece of Mrs. Bowen. Mrs. E. W. Gleason was the 'recipient of a surprise birthday party Monday afternoon, also date of her 2'Jth wedding anni-versary. 18 members .of the Navy Mothers club from Salt Lake City and Copperton attended. Mrs. Florence Anderson, commander of the group, was in charge of the party. A scrapbook to be tak-en to the national convention in Omaha was shown. The after-noon was spent sewing and many lovely gifts given Mrs. Gleason. Miss Norma Thomas, daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Thom-as, suffered a dislocated should-er and severely cut arm in an auto accident in Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon. The car was driven by Thomas Hatch. Mrs. Hatch suffered bruises. Miss Thomas is receiving treatment at Bingham hospital following an operation Thursday morning. Joy Seal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Seal, suffered bruis-es when she fell from a car driv- - Lark Notes r m Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McDonald were hosts Sunday evening at a dinner honoring Mrs. McDonald's r Mita Maud Jensen Is Bride of Week Now on a wedding trip in the northwest, Mr. and Mrs. C. Ver-no- r Dunn wil soon be at home in Ogden. Mrs. Dunn is the form-er Miss Maud F. Jensen, a teach-er the past two years at Bing-ham Central school and a dau-ghter of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Jen-sen of Ephraim. The marriage ceremony was performed Wednesday in the Manti LDS temple. Botli young people attended Snow collepe. Miss Jensen gradu-ated from Brigham YounK uni-versity. A son of Mr. and Mrs. O. Clifford Dunn of Tooele, the groom is a graduate of the school of pharmacy of the University of Southern Idaho at Pocatello. Teachers at Central school hon-ored Miss Jensen at a luncheon at the Marillyn cafe on May 20. She was presented with a wed-ding gift. Miss Martha Watts Is Tuesday Bride In a ceremony performed at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Watts, their daughter, Miss Mar-tha Watts, became the bride of Herbert Mack Allen. Bishop Da-vid C. Lyon officiated. A wedding dinner was served to eighteen. Roses and sego lil-ies decorated the living room. The bride wore a white marqui-sette formal dress, trimmed with white velvet, and gold sandals. Her bouquet was of lavender and white sweet peas, combined with white carnations and yellow rose-buds. A reception for close friends and relatives was held later at the Bingham LDS ward chapel. Out-of-tow- n guests included Wil-liam J. Watts of Tooele; Miss El-la Watts of Lovell, Wyo.; Mr.'and Mrs. Homer Reed and Mrs. Clif-ford Malmstrom of Lark. The couple is now at home at the New Royal apartments. . 1 Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Snyder and sons, Kenneth and Bobby, of Grass Valley, Cal., are visiting with Mr. Snyder's mother, Mrs. Ben Snyder of the Copper Hotel. The birthday of Mrs. Jane Spendlove, outgoing president of the Bingham LDS ward Relief society, was marked Tuesday ev-ening by a party given by mem-bers at the Spendlove home. A lovely chenille bedspread was given Mrs. Spendlove. Refresh-ments were served 19. The Rev. John Brown of Kan-sas City left for his home Tues-day evening after a week's stay at the Highland Boy Community House. He was called here by the illness of his daughter, Miss Alice Virginia Brown, who recently underwent an operation at Bing-ham hospital. The Sunday eve-ning services at the Community House were conducted by the Rev. Brown. Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Jones have as house guests Mr. and Mrs. W. Brackman and daughter, Diane, of Berkeley, Cal., who arrived Sunday to visit several weeks. Mrs. Joseph Rawlins and chil-dren are visiting in Logan with relatives. Defa-Badovina- Marriage Wednesday Miss Jennie Defa of Magna and Pete Badovinatz of Bingham were married Wednesday in Salt Lake City. They will make their home in Highland Boy. Invited as sub-stitutes to regular members were Mrs. Lawrence West and Mrs. K. E. Longfellow. A late lunch-eon was served. Berg entertained at a family dinner Monday evening for their son and daughter-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Delmar A. Berg. Mr. Berg received the degree of bachelor of science in mechanical engineer-ing from the school of mines and engineering at the University of Utah Tuesday. He and his wife left that evening to visit her par-ents in Vuma, Colo., and then to travel to Schenectady, N. Y., where he will work for the Gen-eral Electric company. William Grant, who left Monday with her husband and small daughters, Karen and Lin-da, to make their home in, rome, Idaho, was complimented at a dinner party given last Fri-day evening by Mrs. Winn Raby. Lutheran Ladies Aid The women's organization of the Swedish Lutheran church met Monday evening at the church in Carr Fork with Mrs. J. W. Holmes of Copperfield and Mrs. Elvera Forsnes as hostesses. It was decided to hold one meet-ing a month during the summer on the fifteenth day at seven o'- clock in the evening. Next meet-ing will be at the church at 7 p.m. July 15 with Mrs. T. J. Hur-ley and Mrs. John Hansen hos-tesses. Portland Girl Is Wedded Here Miss Marie Martin of Portland, Oregon, and Gam Carpentier, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Carpen-tier of No. 25 Freeman, recited their wedding vows yesterday af-ternoon at four o'clock at the home of Bishop and Mrs. David C. Lyon. The ceremony was per-formed by Bishop Lyon. A daughter of Mrs. J. O. Mar-tin of Portland, the bride arrived in Bingham Sunday. Her wedding dress was of navy blue crepe trimmed with white. She wore black accessories and a corsage. Invitations have been sent to friends of the couple to attend a reception being given by parents of Mr. Carpentier at 8:30 o'clock Saturday evening at the Bing-ham LDS ward chapel. The couple will be at home in Bingham. Dinner Party Fetes Visitor A prettily arranged ' dinner party was given last evening at the home of Mrs. Boyd J. Nerd-i- n in compliment to Mrs. Mark Ricks of Berkeley, Cal., who is visiting friends and relatives in Salt Lake City. Twelve guests were seated at small tables where placecards were green and white nouses marked "welcome home" and favors were corsages of pink rosebuds and carnations. The evening was spent playing Bingo. .. a Shower For Bride Of Yesterday Mrs. Irvin Carl Miller, who was Miss Dora West before her marriage in Salt Lake City yes-terday, was honored at a bridal shower given at the home of Mrs. Hindley Mayne Wednesday ev-ening. Mrs. Gail Moulton and Miss Amy Cufhbert were cohos-tesse- s. Monte Carlo whist was played, with Miss Ruth Horniek-el- , Miss Georgia Drossos and Mrs. Harry Turner winning prizes. Luncheon was served to 20. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are on a wedding trip and will return to make their home in the Alexander apartments. Miu Maureen Looney It June Bride Of interest here is the news of the wedding of Miss Maureen Looney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Looney, 155 Fourth Eas street, Salt Lake City, and Joseph J. Koos of 78 Sixth avenue, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Looney are former Bingham residents. Miss Maureen is a graduate of Bingham high school, class of 1937, and a former student of St. ch and the University of Utah. The ceremony was solemnized at the Cathedral of the Madeleine by the Kt. Rev. Monsignor Pat-rick F. Kennedy on June 5. The bride was lovely in a white satin gown, fashioned with long sleeves, sweetheart neckline ana a train. From a halo of lace and pearls fell a veil of bride's illus-ion. She carried a white prayer-boo- k. Mrs. Joseph A. Looney Jr. as matron of honor wore maize mousseline de soie, a matching circular veil from a coronet of blue cornflowers. She carried a bouquet of sweet peas and corn-flowers. Joseph A. Looney Jr., brother of the bride, was best man. Mrs. John B. Bradley played for the wedding. The bride's mother wore a navy blue model. Mrs. William R. Koos, the bridegroom's moth-er, chose black. Both wore gar-denias and sweet peas. A wedding breakfast at Jean-ne's tearoom. Salt Lake City, followed the ceremony. The couple are honeymooning on the Pacific coast. They will make their home in Salt Lake City.
