Lester Wood, aged II years, son of Joseph Jo-seph Wood. 6S0 North First street, is confined to his bed as the result of wounda received Friday night when he was attacked by a vicious bulldog, the property of Mrs. W. The hoy had entered the yard of Mrs. Is'oycs to deliver a package of meat at tho request ot his father, who Is a meat cutter employed by his brother. The victim was thrown to the ground and before tho savage beast had been driven off it inflicted the other Injuries mentioned. Mrs. Noycs assisted in boating off tlio dog, took th victim Into hr house, called Dr. M. R. Stewart and before his arrival had temporarily dressed young Wood's wounds. The matter was reported to tho police department and upon orders from Lieutenant Lieu-tenant John Ilcmpel the dog was shot yesterday afternoon. Pr Stewart says that tho boy's Injuries In-juries wliilo serious, aro not permanent, and that ho will bo able to bo out again within a weok unless complications of infection in-fection should set In. |
