Show HARMONIE SOCIETY GIVES GERMAN PICNIC Enjoyable Evening of Feasting and Music for Sons and Daughtors of the Fatherland, Nearly one hundred members of the Harmonio society ot Salt Lake, their wives, children and sweethearts, heartily hearti-ly enjoyed a genuine German picnic Inst night In Harnionli! hall. The good haus-fraus haus-fraus had the tables loaded with the viands of excellent quill ly, tho nature and proportion of which aro best told In tho native language of the matronly cooks. There was also an abundance of "German champagne." The committee on urrangoments that directed the highly enjoyable event, comprised com-prised J. A. Peters, president of the Harmonic: M. J. Dixon, M. Nichols and Oswald Vcltz. The Harmonic male chorus of thirty, under the able leadership of Professor H. Schade, who la also conductor of the Harmonio orchestra, rendered a- dozon German songs, somo of them classics, others in lighter vein, but all receiving warm applause-Professor applause-Professor Schadfi's male chorus and orchestra aro hard at work on a concert lo be given under 1-Iarmonle auspices on the evening of April 30 In tho Swedish Lutheran church, Second South and Fourth East streets, at which only German Ger-man classical music will be rendered. A number of the .society's be3t soloists will be heard, among them Gustav Molzku3, and ProfCHor Schade will give a violin solo. |
