Show ALLEGED 61BL1I HOUSE IS RAIDED Eight Poker Players Taken Into Custody and Released Re-leased on Bond. What Is believed to be a gambling house was raided by Patrolmen Potter and Woodard at about 12;30 o'clock this morning. The officers wont Into the place, which is In the rear of IH East Second South street, and watchod a poker game for about an hour. They allege that when a man "went broke" they saw him buy more chips, paying money to the man who was running tho game. After they were satisfied that the men wero gambling. Potter left the room, but soon returned having with him Sergeant Ser-geant Johnston and Patrolmen Davidson and Riley. All those who had been playing play-ing were placed under arrest and taken to the police station, where they were released upon furnishing bonds for Lhclr appearance in court. Tho name of tho man who Is alleged to have been running tho game appears on the police blotter as John Doe. He was required to furnish ball to the amount of 5100. while each of the. soven other men arrested were required lo 'furnish $25 ball. Tho othor men gave their names as IT. C. .Swan. J- Glen. . A. Joseph, C. Drue. J. Blitz, A. C. Reed and Joe Dawson. Their ages ranged from 21 to S3 years. |
