WASHINGTON, Mny 21 Children took the principal part In tho closing session tonight of the sixth convention of tho World's Sunday School association. associa-tion. Dressed In costumes of various nations and carrying the flags of those, countries, coun-tries, preceded by the "conquest flag." which bears a cross and tho words "By This Sign, Conquer," a long line of children chil-dren filled the front of the big platform and later marched through the aisles of the Immense hall singing. There were speakers from India, Japan, Korea and other foreign countries. England Eng-land and America clasped hands in the speakers' rostrum, when the retiring president of the association. Rev. Dr. Meyer of London, stood by the side of the new president, Dr. Gcorgo W. Bailey of Philadelphia. Tho next convention will meet in Geneva. Switzerland, in 1313. , The month and date will bo determined by the executive ex-ecutive committee. The committee on resolutions presented present-ed a report, which was unanimously adopted by tho convention, declaring for ovangollzatlon In tho Roman Catholic countries; for civic purity; for universal peace, and expressing tho conviction that Sunday school Influences arc responsible for tho wave of prohibition that has swept somo sections of the country. |
