Show BKIGHAM HIGH SCHOOL: CHANGES IN FACULTY Special to The Tribune. UP.IGHAM CITV. April 21.- The board of education has ompletcd its plans for conducting tho Box Elder high school for the 1310-11 school year, beginning in September. Several or the present faculty fac-ulty will sever their connection with the school upon the close for th summer vacation next month. Among thoso lcnv-Ing lcnv-Ing are Professor Kcft, who will take charge of the Heber Cltv high school next year. Mr. Woolloy will enter the field of engineering and Messm Harding and Lloyd will go east, to attend school. For next year Professor A. M. Mer-rell, Mer-rell, the present principal, w'll remain at the head of the school. Miss Delta Cole will remain In charge of the German Ger-man department, where she has been for a number of years paBt, and will spend the .summer vacation In Germany taking special courses In German while there. Miss Ina Stratford, who has had charge of the domestic sclenco and art department, will remain at tho heud of that department. These three teachers are the only members of the present faculty fac-ulty who will teach next year. A new department will bo established In the school, that of elocution and physical physi-cal training. In which department Miss Lucllo Thurmun will bo at the head. "Miss Thurman. whose home is ln Salt Lake City, is a student of the University of Utah, and comes highly recommended. This department will be entirely new to Brlgham students, but will undoubtedly prove very successful. Among tho other new teachers engaged for next year are II. P. Burrows a graduate grad-uate of tho Agricultural college of Utah. Mr. Burrows will take charge of the agricultural department. At present ho Is at the head of this department in the Nophl high school. C. O. Roskelly. graduate of the Brlgham Brlg-ham Young university, will be at the head of mathematics. Mr. Roskelly will also take an active part In boosting ath- IVilVS til I liJ aciiuui. Miss Mildred Jenson, daughter of County Coun-ty Attorney Nels Jenson of this cltv. who will receive her A. B. degree ln "art at the University of Utah ln June, will leach In the English department. History and oconomlcs will be taught by H. Glen Kinsley, a graduate of the Iowa college. Grlnnell, Iowa, and at present pres-ent a student In advanced work ln the University of Chicago. The Box .Elder" high school Is In an excellent condition and is going forward in leaps and bounds, and Is rapidly gnin-Ing gnin-Ing prestige In the community. The school Is well supported by the "cltlzons of Brigham City nnd Box Elder countv, and Is receiving every possible encouragement. |
