it v as thought that the end as at hand at 6 he rallied somewhat but it left him with lery little strength and the doctors became convinced conin ced that he could hardly live throughout the night about 3 30 he had another spell and atter ft ard his mind became corp morp clear and bright the sick man lay in a front room and daylight was just beginning to shed its rays into the bick room when kandall opened his eyes and after speaking to his wife once gradually sank away aromnd him acro mrs kandall miss susan kandall mrs lancaster a married daughter her husband samuel kandall jr dr mallad and post mas general wanamaker the shock was especial 1 severe to mrs kandall and her daughter susan who hare nursed the husband and father through an illness of almost two years duration postmaster that lio was mending and would bo able to re sumo his congressional duties lie joined the presbyterian church about two months ago mr wanamaker having spoken to him on the subject dr chester is the pastor and will probably conduct the funeral services in chis city the news of llan dalls death became quite generally known during alie day it was expected and vas therefore not so much of a shock as
