of big cottonwood canyon report was accepted and the memorial adopted A recess was then taken until 2 p m on reassembling mr booth of the committee on claims reported favorably on the claim ef W H dark assessor and collector of sevier county for taxes amounting to report adopted and the claim referred to the committee on appropriations the governor announced that he had approved app and signed 0 F 3 relating to the of certain animals and birds and 0 F 29 relating to injunctions the committee on judiciary reported favorably on H F 85 providing for for the release of contracts affecting real estate report accepted and bill filed on second reading mr barton of the special committee to whom was referred 0 F 61 mr bryans election bill reported in favor of placing tho bill on its passage when certain amendments suggested should be made the amendments were made and the bill passed G F GO to encourage manufacturers and paying bounty was taken up on second reading and amended by including a bounty of 1 cents per pound on hemp rope or twine manufactured from home productions by a factory costing not less than and having capacity of 1000 pounds per day the bill passed its second reading conference the committee on memorials meno rials reported favorably upon and recommended the adoption of a memorial taken from senate file providing for the sale and disposition of government lands for the purpose of defraying expenses of the development of the territorial irrigation system deport accepted and memorial adoption the committee on memorials also reported in favor of memorials to con grees asking that an act pass allowing the territory of utah to lease the school lands of the territory for the benefit and support of the public schools of the territory deport adopted and memorial passed the same committee offered a memorial asking congress to pass an act prescribing the cutting of timber and the grazing of stock upon the public lands knowd as the water shed of the COUNCIL yesterday the following business was disposed of G F 63 for the contesting of elections was passed the governor announced his approval of aryans bee bill booths bill regulating the rate of auditor and roberts as treasurer were approved G F 26 relating to rial by juries in civil procedure was returned by the governor without liis approval C F 56 the consolidation of railroads was also returned his approval mr introduced C F 64 a bill creating alie onice of county ater master C F 50 in relation to the consolidation of railroads was amended and passed the governor Gov einor announced his approval of C F 58 and disapproved of C F 48 H F 89 on private corporations and C F 48 on insane asylum were passed the council on recommendation of the judiciary committee refused to concur in house amendments to C F 61 the same action was taken in reference to the fish and game bill and a conference committee was appointed HOUSE H F 63 a bill in relation to notaries not aries public was the council asked for and obtained a second conference committee on the reform school bill CF 20 the flah and game bill came up on its third reading and after being slightly amended passed the private corporations banking associations railroad corporations geology and mineralogy and the sheep bill all passed C F 29 providing for tho organization of mutual fire insurance companies was rejected BLE 93 relating to the place of the trial of civil actions was made the special order for today to day the council bill in relation to the execution of trusts was slightly amended and passed the house bill being rejected the governor announced that he had approved the fish bill the release of dower bill and the bill in relation to the contracts affecting real estate he suggested amendments in the mining assessment ses bill which were adopted and the bill passed the governor returned H F 53 relating to the sale of intoxicating liquor without his approval the liquor traffic he said was under better control here than any where else and he did not deem it wise to tamper with the lawhe would however approve of portions of the bill it was referred to the judiciary committee which reported
