Show A KAYSVILLE BURGLARY; SUM OF MONEY STOLEN Special to The Tribune. KAYSVILLE. March 25. During the small hours of this morning the gonoral store of H . J. Sheffield, located on the principal street of this city, -was broken Into by burglars and ?30 taken. Tho monoy had been hidden away in the cash register, but this did not puzzle tho burglars bur-glars in the least, for when the owner arrived to open up for business tills morning he found six small tobacco sacks lying on the floor, the sacks having contained con-tained the money. Entrance was gained to the establishment establish-ment by the breaking of a small window In the rear of tho store. Nothing else but the money was taken. The city council met on Thursday: evening, when the appointment of Myron W. Phillips to till the position of city treasurer, made vacant bv the resignation resigna-tion of Robert C. JnmlBon, was confirmed. con-firmed. Developing from tho recent meeting of city officials with the commissioners of Davis county, there is a movement on foot to have all saloons In the county closo at 9 o'clock p. m. nnd to raise the license to ?12P0 a year. The Kaysvllle council considered nn ordinance In accordance ac-cordance with tho above regulations, but it was left to be taken up at the next meeting. A haystack containing twenty tons burned yesterday. U Is reported that a lighted cigarette started the (Ire. Edward Synham died very unexpectedly unexpected-ly at his home In Bountiful on Wednesday Wednes-day of old ago and general debility. He was 70 years old, and Is survived by five children. The remains were taken to Ogden for burial on Friday. Joseph Hoylngton nnd Mrs. Mary A. Oliver, both of Bountiful, were married Thursday by Bishop Walter W. Barlow. A reception was given the same evening even-ing at the homo of Mr- Boyington for the Immediate relatives and friends. |
