The fascinating art of horse trading, for which David Harum was famous, a drugged animal and a protested pro-tested chock are tho features of a suit brought In tho city court, but moved to the district court for trial, today, in which Walter Reed Is seeking to collect a S20 check from Fred M. Tout. Tho trado was made In Ogden. June 1G, 1310. Tout exchanged an old bay horse for a black family horse, recommended, lt Is said, by Reed to be gentle and reliable, relia-ble, and to pull double with a locomotive locomo-tive engine and feed out of the tender. Tout gave his check for $20 along with his old bay horse In exchange for tho black animal. Before the chock could be cashed by Reed. Tout. In his answer and counterclaim, counter-claim, says that he discovered that the black horse was afflicted with heaves and was drugged with arsenic to prevent pre-vent tho disease from bolng detected. Tho animal was so badly foundered, according ac-cording to Tout's answer, that it became be-came lame and stiff after standing for a short time. Tout says that he waa damaged dam-aged to the extent of 5n5. and asks Judgment Judg-ment for this amount. |
