Show DENVER PAPER DECLARES INDIANS ARE STARVING DENVER, Colo.. Dec. 23. The Denver Den-ver Post charges today that tho J i car-ilia car-ilia tribe of Indians, a branch of the Apaches, is being rapidly wipod out of existence by starvation and disease owing ow-ing to the alloged unfitness of the lands allotted to them. Tho Post asserts that its repreeentath'o found land allotted to the Indians in northern New Mexico to be "bleak, rocky and too poor for ordinary agriculture or grazing purposes, pur-poses, so rugged that irrigation is out of the question and a place where goats aro about the only animals that can thrive. " The correspondent asserts that the red men have skinned bark which they chow, and of which they mako soup. |
