| Show some few months ago it wag a common occurrence for the union pacific railroad officials to receive notice that goods of various kinds had failed to reach their destination investigation followed and traces were pat on the track of the misusing miss sing goods but the result was always the same the goods had mysteriously disappeared and could not be accounted for purin that time three barrels of whisky disappeared from a train somewhere between green river and cheyenne every effort was made to trace the missing property but all of no avail the matter died out to a considerable extent A few days ago a saloon kept by the powell bros at green river was moved from one building to another three whisky barrels which appearance pe arance of having been in the ground or in a very damp place were boded on to a truck an officer happened to be present who remembered the incident connected with the disappearance of some whisky alveral months before and more from curiosity than anything elese examined exx mined the custom house seal on the barrels he was surprised to find that they corresponded with the seals on the missing casks and spoke of the fact to the proprietors they admitted they purchased the w dieky from three bewitch men and knew that the liquor was stolen the men were arrested and had a hearing yesterday but the result could not be obtained news |
