times was with S 8 jones last march had business with mr hickman said G W hickman was hia father and he wanted to pay his account he presented a check in payment took out the amount and gave him a check for the balance the second check amounting to was produced in evidence the check he gave me waa deposited at the bank it was returned dishonored he drew the money on the check he gaye me W H check on the deseret national bank but it was refused as the teller did not know him it was afterwards deposited to the credit of mr jones the check was mailed to the deseret national bank we
