Show I GILMORE & PITTSBURG SOON OPENS TOR FREIGHT A. S. Ross of the Gllmore & Pittsburg railroad, the new highway which Is being built, rather ciuletly but surely, from Arm-stead. Arm-stead. Ida . on the Oregon Short Line, through Lemhi pass and down tho valley to Salmon City and Gllmore. the ultimate object of which has the rallrond world guessing. Is a visitor in this city. Mr. Ross states thnt on his way down he rode over forty miles of the completed roarl from Tmlil pass to Armstoad.' and says further that a strong effort is being made to have Hi" road completed to Salmon Sal-mon City by January 1. and to Gllmore bv January 1T. Uo says that the construction con-struction and equipment of the road Is first-class In every detail, eighty-pound open-hearth steel being used throughout. There are now seven locomotives in use on the road and several others are under orders. Through passenger service will not be Inaugurated at present, hut freight traffic between Annstead and Junction will he trin in about two weeks. W. W.
