Larld, president of (lie company, passed tlirough this city Monday from Now York City. Mr. Ladd will be accompanied to tho property by Mine Manager J. C. Breck-on. Breck-on. This company is tho owner of a group of claims, thirty-six in number, located about thirty-two miles north of Modcna. Mr. Ladd stated yesterJlay that the present force of men will be increased immediately, and more miners min-ers will bo set to work as soon as room can be found for them to work profitably. profit-ably. Tho company at present is preparing pre-paring plans for the new loO-tou concentrating con-centrating mill, which will be installed immediately. The property is being developed by a long crosscut tunnel, which now is 400 feet in the hill. There aro seven parallel veins, stated Mr. Ladd, the first being encountered at a vertical depth of seventy-five feet. Ono vein is showing up splendid proportions at, present, having been drifted on for ninety feet. This vein is six feet in width, two feet of which go 44 per cent lead and from 40 to 00 ounces silver per ton. Tlio balance runs from S to 32 ounces silver and from S lo 10 per cent lead. This vein is being developed de-veloped at a vertical depth of about 225 feov. At present this better grade of rock is being sacked preparatory to being snipped to the Salt Lake market, while as great a tonnage of milling grade is being placed into view as possible for tho mill. 1 |
