Show CHANGE IN POLICY OF COLORADO F. & I. COMPANY DENVER, Oct. 19. In an official statement state-ment given out at the conclusion of the annual meeting of stockholders today, officers of the Colorado Fuel n.nd Iron announced a policy of expansion hud been decided upon by which the company com-pany ultimately hopes to supply particularly particu-larly all rails and railroad supplies to railroads rail-roads operating west of the Missouri river as well as disposing of a largo tonnago of steam coul from Its mines. To this end, according to the statement, the Gould interests in-terests have withdrawn from active control con-trol of tho company In order that any suspicion of favoritism to certain railroad lines may be dissipated, and John D. Rockefeller has been asked to name the men who shall control the management of the company In the future. The following board of directors was chosen: Frederick T, Gates, Edwin Hawlcy, J. H. McCIement. J. S. Murphy, George J. Gould, E. H . Harrlman. Wlllard P. Ward. R. T. Jerferey, F. H. Cooper find L. M. Bowers, all of New York; J. F. Welborn. D. C. Beaman and J. A. Writer, all of Denver. Tho newly elected officers include: President J. F. Welborn. Vlce-presldent-treasuror L. M. Bowers. Bow-ers. Secretary and general counsel D. C. Boaman. L. M. Rowers was elected chairman of. tho oxecutlve board. The statement Issued tonight insists that this does not lessen tho power of Mr. Welborn, who Is also a member of tho executive committee. |
