Show Book Review, Article Heard at Civic Club An interesting review of Pearl S. Buck's novel, "This Proud Heart", was given by Mrs. S. J. Granquist at the meeting of the Women's Civic club at the home of Mrs- J. Dewey Knudsen of Copperton Wednesday evening. A timely article, "The Americanization Americani-zation of An American" by Salom Rizk was read by Mrs. II. Fred Dunn- The program was under direction of Mrs. Paul F. Erz-Lola Erz-Lola Jean Gammell played two accordion selections, "Dark Eyes" and 'Alice Blue Gown". Following reading of the club prayer by Mrs. Wilford H. Harris, Har-ris, Mrs. Harley N. English requested re-quested the members remain standing one minute in silent tribute to Mrs. D. O. Stoker, a member whose funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Unanimously elected to club membership were Mrs. Dale Johnston, Mrs. Parker Gray and Mrs. A- J. Sorenson. Mrs. S- T. Nerdin of the welfare committee reported that club plans for distribution dis-tribution of Thanksgiving baskets bas-kets were being carried out. ! Announcement was made of i the appointment of Althea Christ-t Christ-t onsen as Central district international inter-national relations committee chairman. Mrs. Knudsen and Mrs. M. C. Colyar, assisting hostess, served tasty refreshments to twenty-one. A |
