Show i i RETIRING AUDITOR GIVEN HANDSOME DINNER SET After having served tho Oregon Short Line for tho past twolvo years, John Cruickshank, auditor of passenger accounts ac-counts and assistant auditor of the road, sevored his connections with the company Saturday morning. Ho left later in tho day. accompanied by his family, for Washington, where ho is to be chief examiner of passonger accounts ac-counts with tho interstato commerco commission. During his connection with tho Oregon Short Lino, Mr. Cruickshank has eudoared himsolf to all those who havo worked in tho departments over which ho had charge, and just by-way of showing their appreciation of his services and tho esteem in -which they hold him, tho clerical forco in the office of-fice of passenger accounts surprised him Friday afternoon, and beforo the' parted company, nresentod him with a handsomo solid silver dinner set. The presentation speech was made by Mr. Coulson. Mr. Cruickshank was taken completely complete-ly by surprise, but ho managed to express his thanks in no uncertain words. After a general handshake, Mr. Cruickshank left the office, followed by tho best wishes of every man and boy connected with the department'. Ho has .been engaged in tho railroad business busi-ness for a score of years. The new auditor o tho passenger accounts ac-counts in C. H. Zimmerman, who comes from Omaha, where ho was chief division divi-sion man in tho auditor's office of the Union Pacific, with which company ho has been for the past six years. He is regarded as an able man and is considered con-sidered an expert in his lino of work. He has brought his family to the city with him. |
